Desktopography have become known over the years for extremely beautiful and unique wallpapers. And now they have just released 2008’s issue along with a beautiful musical album. I for one will be buying the album for $10US very soon!

If you’re into amazing abstract art pieces and beautiful nature photography, you need to check out Desktopography.
Update: Just letting you all know that I did download (buy) the album, and it’s pretty decent if you’re into slow-paced soft music. I think it would be a lot better if it were more like the music in the latest Depthcore pack (Requiem)

Another installment of Smashing Magazines calendar wallpapers. I’m thinking of contributing to next month’s, I just need a good idea! Anyway, here are some more beautiful wallpapers for the month of May.

Enjoy!

From Outlaw Design Blog:

Well, I’ve gotta say, most of these are really beautiful, but I’ve also gotta say that some of these are below-par in my opinion. I’m betting most people will enjoy most of these wallpapers anyway, so they’re worth checking out!

If you’re anything of a web-user you’re gonna love these. Myself being something of a geek-nerd-guy I loved quite a few of these, particularly the code/design ones.

Even though I’m not using the widescreen resolution 1920 x 1200, I’m using this wallpaper. It’s beautiful with it’s subtle grunge and very vibrant, yet sometimes dark colors. I probably don’t know what I’m talking about here, but I love the wallpaper. I wish there were more of the same kind!

One of the best sources for good-quality wallpapers in my opinion WallpaperStock.net

They’ve everything you could possibly need, from 3D, to girls and sports and everything in between.

These two wallpapers were designed by me (Wallpaper Diary).
Since I’m a big fan of Google (and I don’t want to get on their bad side!) I sometimes enjoy designing simple wallpapers with Google in them, using the traditional colors, of course. Here is a Google Braille wallpaper I came up with using the Braille font:

And the grunge version:

Again, sorry, but the wallpapers are only in 1280 x 1024 format. If anyone wants to request it I could probably come up with some other resolutions.

There are some really sweet, simple wallpapers to be found on the Link Prestige Goodies Page, which you’ll love if you’re a fan of abstract, simplistic wallpapers.

There’s 16 wallpapers all up, and they’re all 1680 x 1050 in size, but you should be able to use them with plenty of other resolutions, as long as you stretch or center them.
In my opinion, they’re just a little too simple. I think they would be nicer if they had a plain white shape on them, or even a watermark would make them look a little more interesting.

Smashing Magazine recently run a competition-type thing where they got participants to make some nice wallpapers with an April calendar on them. There are some absolutely beautiful wallpapers here, of which you can download versions with and without the calendar on them.

Sizes vary from 800 x 600 to 2560 x 1600, and everything in between!
